Too bad it's not enough for the boys to play in. It's just cold and really wet outside. Which is no fun to play in at all.

Where am I?
When the weather man says we're going to have a chance for snow, I, of course, never believe him. But then I went outside and actually saw this:
(Can you see the little flakes falling?)
Too bad it's not enough for the boys to play in. It's just cold and really wet outside. Which is no fun to play in at all.

The Funeral
I got to go this past weekend to my grandmother's funeral. While Dustin and the boys would have loved to come with me, it just wasn't possible, so I went alone. It was a little strange not to have them with me, but I think I was able to fully experience the range of sad to sweet without the distraction of my kids.
Everything was so nice. It was cold and raining when we got to the mortuary for her viewing and funeral service, but by the time of the burial, the sun had come out and despite the chilly wind, it was rather nice for a winter day in Utah.
Here are my grandpa and all his boys. They all paid such a wonderful memorial to their mother at the funeral. I loved hearing all the funny stories about my grandma, some of which I had never heard before.
It was also a great opportunity for me to spend some time with my own brothers and some their families. (How cute are my two baby nieces?)
It was a short but meaningful weekend, and I owe a lot to my husband and especially my mother-in-law who made it possible for me to go (and not have to worry about my own boys while I was gone).

Lots of Love
Happy Valentines Day. The boys enjoyed a breakfast of mini heart shaped pancakes. They also had some Valentines hung on their doors, which they noticed very first thing this morning.
We love our little boys (even if they're driving us slightly crazy!) and are happy to share the love with them today.
I also got some Valentines gifts. I hope my husband isn't embarrassed by me showing off his gift. (He probably will be.) It is nothing big or fancy, but it's perfect, since big and fancy are just not me anyway.
I also splurged on some new dresses for myself. And if you can't see why, you might be blind.

Till We Meet Again
This morning my sweet Grandma, Bonnie Jean Wooters Jensen went home. We are so relieved that she can now leave her ailing body behind for a while and be united with all of her loved ones who have already passed on. I feel particularly blessed to have had such a wonderful relationship with her. She was a great woman. She joined the church when her children were young, and raised her 4 sons to live righteous lives. In turn, her sons raised righteous families, and now their families continue to raise righteous families today. It's a pretty great legacy to be a part of.
She also battled cancer too many times during her long life. It was on my birthday this year that she was taken into the hospital to have her lungs drained and they discovered a large mass around her heart. Sadly, cancer would be the victor this time. In her last battle 10 years ago the treatment nearly claimed her life, but instead we were given another decade to share with her. So many of her grandchildren were married. So many great-grandchildren were born. So many wonderful moments were shared. All of these pictures were taken within these past 10 years.

Thank you for everything Grandma. We love you, and we'll see you again.

"Baby" J isn't a baby anymore!
Jensen turns 2 today! We just love this little guy and love the age that he is at right now. Happy Birthday Jensen!

(I know, I know, lots of photos, just some of my favorites, and I have no idea how to do those cute collages. But you gotta enjoy Jensen full size, he's got too much personality to be collaged anyway.)

Valentine Prep
This year is the first year that I have made Valentines with my kids. Since Carson is having a Valentines party in his class next week we got online in search of easy and cute valentine cards. I finally happened upon these:
I love that we get to use pencils (I love pencils for some odd reason) and they were very simple. Just a cardstock cut out of a heart, a short message, and some hole punches. Carson's job is to put his name on the bottom and slide the pencils through the holes. Like so:
(Is this not the cutest signature? I love his "R.")
We also found these:
They were a little more labor intensive (using the template, cutting out and gluing the eyes, etc.) But they were just so darn cute, I couldn't resist making a few.
In the end, Carson and I had fun making these together. And hopefully his friends will have fun getting them! (And feel free to copy us...unless, of course, you're planning on going to the same Valentines party as us...then that might be awkward. But if you need some more ideas check here.)
