Family Prayer

Carson learned about prayer in Sunbeams this past Sunday. He normally comes home with pictures from class. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to share his latest creation.

This is a picture that he drew of our family having prayer. Carson is saying it (of course.) Having daily family prayer really leaves an impression on a young mind. I love this little guy.

(And I hope you appreciate it since it took about 5 scans and 4 trys to upload the drawing! Which would totally be user error since I'm NOT tech savvy in the least.)

3rd Time is a Charm

Today I cut my hair. I forgot how stressful this is for me. It always has been (just ask my mom about my first big haircut at age 3!) When it comes down to it, I just love my hair long.
But about 3 years ago I found a cause that I felt I could contribute to. I donated my first 8 inches of hair to Beautiful Lengths in February of 2007. My second 8 inches was donated in March of 2008. Today was my third 8 inches. That's 24 inches in 2 and a half years! (For a girl who really likes long hair, I must be crazy!)

But I feel very blessed to have a beautiful head of hair, and it seems a small thing to donate. And even though I'm sad to loose my locks, I can be assured it'll all be back before I even know it. For now I'll just get to rock this style!(And thanks to my friend Rachel who spent a lot of time making sure I was happy with my dramatic change!)

Just in case you're wondering...

We're still here.
We just haven't been doing much.
At least not much out of the ordinary.
Mostly staying indoors.
Or playing at the pool.
BECAUSE IT'S JUST SO DANG HOT!
Carson did have a friend over today, so that was fun. This little guy has no excuse...except that he's just so darn funny!Other than that we're just trying to get ready to go to California in a couple of weeks. We're so excited about having a week on the beach!

Happy Birthday America

Yeah, I know I'm a day late, but how are you supposed to post pictures of firework watching when it's the last thing to happen in the day?We enjoyed watching the fireworks show at the Buda City Park. The boys got filthy playing in the dirt and they liked having glowing necklaces to wear. We just all wish it hadn't been so hot!Hope everyone had a safe and happy Independence Day!
