You know you're a Redneck if...

You know you're a Redneck if this is the back of your pickup. At first glance, it just looks like a dirty truck bed. But upon further examination we find not only trash and assorted garbage, but also 4 tires (all different sizes) and the kicker...a rotting deer head. Yup, that is a decapitated deer in the upper right. Dustin snapped this Kodak moment while on his weekly trip to Cabelas for Daddy and Carson time.

Baby Blessing

We got to bless Jensen in church today. It was a nice thing to do on Easter Sunday. We were glad to be able to do it while Dustin's family was in town.

I also wanted to post an updated picture of the little guy. He was being so cute and smiley, but thanks to the delay on my camera, this was the most smile I could capture. It's still cute! I can't believe how big he's getting. He's about 10 lbs now, which I think is how much Carson weighed at 3 months! :)

Happy Easter

This year our ward campout fell on Easter weekend. It also happened to be when Dustin's siblings were in town, so we decided to forgo the overnight camping experience this year. (Oh yeah, AND because I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of camping with a 6 week old baby.) We did, however make the trip up the next morning when they did an Easter Egg hunt, which Carson enjoyed. He also enjoyed getting presents and candy from both his grandmas. Thanks for spoiling him and giving him a sugar high.

Hair Today, Gone...

So, I've pretty much always had long hair. Really long hair. Then last year about this time, I decided to chop it and donate it to Beautiful Lengths. My wonderful sister-in-law cut it for me and did a great job. So when my hair started getting long again and the same SIL came into town this week, I decided to do it again.
This is probably the shortest I've had it, maybe ever. Here's to good genes and being fortunate enough to donate to a worthy cause...twice.

Fair Warning

So if you've ever been on this blog before, you might see a continuing theme. I pretty much just use this as a forum to brag about my kids and I post lots of pictures of them so that my family can see how much my children have grown and changed, since we're lucky to see most of our family more than once every couple of years. This post will be no different. :)

Here we have Carson making a backwards dunk on his basketball hoop. He loves to play basketball in his "new room" and he's quite the shooter. But this was the first time I'd ever seen him take this shot, so naturally it had to photographed (and bragged about!) Then we have little Jensen. This is mostly for my mom who loves to see how big he's getting, and I feel obligated to post lots of pictures of him right now, since he's changing so much at this stage.

Now that everyone is on the mend from whatever nasty bug that was, we're starting to settle into our routine again. Of course, except for yesterday, when Carson didn't take a nap and it was all I could do to get through the day until Dustin came home to rescue me.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to these two boys. Jensen is 1 month old today - I can hardly believe it! Dustin is considerably older. :) Since it was Sunday, and we've spent the past week or so recovering from illnesses, we kept it pretty low key today. This photo very accurately describes our day. Sleeping and watching movies on TV. We also enjoyed some yummy chocolate cake. Hopefully we get to make it up by doing something fun when Dustin's siblings are here next week. At any rate, it's something to look forward to.

3 Weeks

I know I'm a few days off on the 3 week mark, but it's harder than it looks to not only get a picture, but to actually be in the picture. (Thanks Dustin.) I feel it's important to be in pictures with my kids every so often, so that someday they'll be able to look back and see what their mother looked like while they were young. After putting together a scrapbook for my own mothers 60th birthday, I realized how few pictures we have with our mom. (But I'm pretty sure that was intentional, right Mom?)

As for an update, Carson is finally feeling better, Jensen still isn't sick, and the rest of us are hoping this week won't be so exhausting!
