Splish, Splash

We've been getting a fair amount of rain this week. (It's great- last year was WAY too hot and dry.) Also, our lawn hasn't been mowed for quite some time and the long blades make for great bunny watching. (There's probably a den of snakes living in my yard, too, but I try not to think about that…)We stepped outside on the back porch to observe this furry little friend, and since it was so warm, I decided to let the boys splash for a bit on the sidewalk. After all, if you're going to play in the rain, summer is the perfect time to do it!

(And yes, Jensen is, in fact, wearing underwear with no shorts on. We're going for round 2 of potty training and this time has been much more successful. I'm beginning to believe I might actually get to have him trained before the baby comes!)

Captain Adorable

Here's a short clip of Jensen saying "Captain Adorable" that Dustin took on his dad's new phone. Please pardon how very unattractive I look in the background. (I also find it hilarious at the end when he goes to give grandpa a hug, and then disses him!)

Such a Big Boy

This morning was Jensen's first trip to the dentist. Doesn't he look excited! :)Actually, he was rather excited, because Carson told him when he was all done, he could pick out a fun toy from the cool treasure chest they have. That, and you get a new toothbrush! We had to remind him of his future "goodies" all morning, since he was being a typical 2 year old (yes, he's reached the terrible 2 stage). But once we got to the office, he was a rock star! He climbed right into the chair and the adorable hygienist was super impressed as he sat through a complete cleaning. She even gave him some funny football sunglasses to wear!Carson also had a cleaning done, and was calm enough this time around for them to be able to get some X-rays. He got a little whiny during his cleaning, but we made it through. They were both happy to pick out toys and the best part was that the dentist was happy about how great their teeth looked. Me too!

Dinner and a Movie

Yesterday we took the boys to a much anticipated event. I have been telling them for about 9 months that I would take them both to see Toy Story 3!This was Jensen's first movie theater experience. He was a pro. He sat between Dustin and I (with a large tub of popcorn) and watched the whole thing. At the end he even clapped- it was awesome.

This was Carson's 4th movie theater trip and he kept asking me for his candy during the previews! He actually got pretty scared and upset a couple of times. At one point I put my hand on his chest to try to calm him down and I could feel his poor little heart just racing! But I kept telling him that the toys were going to find a way out and they would be okay. Then I distracted him with some M&M's. He did fine after that.

Here they are getting ready to leave. Both in their Toy Story shirts, and even though you can't see them very well, they're holding their little Toy Story toys. We all had a great time at the movie (which was awesome) and then enjoyed a later dinner at Texas Road House (per Carson's request…:)).

In other exciting news, I found out yesterday that I passed my 3 hour glucose test, so I do not have gestational diabetes! Hooray for me!

What to do…what…to do

Jensen's our destructive one. (Not that he's bad- I've seen much worse!) But this is the kid that wrote on the couch. Remember? And then the brand new office chair cushion? I also had to scrub purple crayon off the kitchen floor last week (while I was very sick, I might add.) It, of course, was the work of Jensen.

Today I had my wits about me when I heard him coloring on his bedroom door with a pencil. And since he's much older now than he was when he had his previous incidents, this time he got cleaning duty. (This is only a small part of what he did- I didn't get the camera till the end, when I realized how cute he looked cleaning!:))

All I have to say is, "Bless the person who invented Magic Erasers!"(And not the best picture of him, because he was crying, and then he decided to do his "cheese" face!)

L-O-V-E

We haven't had anything fun to blog about lately. Carson finished up his Mother's Day Out program and now he's home everyday. Jensen becomes more little boy and less baby every single day. Dustin's been working like a dog (as usual) but still finding time to brush up on his golf game in preparation for the "Jensen Brother's Golf Weekend." Me? Just trying not to loathe the last few months of this pregnancy in the sweltering heat. Same old, same old.

But for those of you who have been waiting for me to post something new (…all 4 of you…) here's a little sweet tidbit from tonight. Hugs for brothers who love each other. (Initially they were hugging on their own, and when I got out the camera, they were still down for a couple more hugs.)Nothing but love for these little guys!
