Happy 4th of July!

Well, I can't say our Independence Day celebrations were anything out of the ordinary, or even patriotic. We hung out all morning (while Dustin was out golfing!) had a BBQ with Grandma and Grandpa Brudnicki and then we headed over to the Buda City Park to watch fireworks. It was fun, though. The fireworks were average, but they had music playing during the display, and I thought that was pretty neat. (Not as good as the Boston Pops, but hey, at least I didn't have to watch this on TV!)

I think Carson had more fun playing with his little glow stick thing that Dustin bought him than he did watching the fireworks show. But he got pretty excited at the finale. Even Jensen stayed awake for most of it, his little eyes glued the sky. This is the first time we've been able to see fireworks together with our kids. And while I always enjoy fireworks, I loved being able to look down at my children and watch the reflexion of the lights on their innocent and awe filled faces.

And I have to say the weather was remarkably nice. It helped that it rained a couple of hours prior to the show. It really cooled it off outdoors. It also created a spectacular rainbow! And even though my photography is sub-par, you can see a little of it behind the boys. I always knew this is what would be at the end of the rainbow!

Our Trip to St. George

I loved this picture of Jensen. He was quite often found sleeping on my mom's lap in her glider. What cracks me up is the little giraffe under his arm! (He really enjoyed chewing on that poor little toy.)

A Few Pictures

Here are just some of the pictures that I wanted to post from our trip to Utah. Unfortunately blogger is not cooperating, and these are the only pics that would upload for me today. Enjoy for now.Here are the boys with the great Grandmas. They sure did love seeing these cute little guys.

Carson and Jensen playing bubbles with Grandma Jensen. That machine was so cool. I'm seriously tempted to buy one. It pumps out bubbles galore with no effort on my lungs- what could be better?!

Here's the awesome pool that we went to in Washington City. This place was huge, and so much fun. Thanks to my dad- who I think had more fun playing in the water than my boys did!

Vacation!

We’ve been having a great time here in St. George, Utah with my parents. I was initially nervous about coming for 2 weeks instead of our regular 1 week trip. But I’m so glad I took Dustin’s advice because it has enabled us to relax and enjoy our time (instead of feeling rushed to do everything!)

Carson and Jensen have been having fun visiting with family and mostly playing in the water. We loved this awesome park in downtown St. George with a splash pad and kid friendly “river.” We can hardly wait until Dad gets here on Friday to join us!

Unfortunately, my parents have THE WORST internet service on the planet (Dad quit being such a cheap skate and get some real internet service!) so I am unable to post any of the adorable pictures that we've taken so far. For all our adoring fans, you may just have to wait until next week when I get home to my glorious high speed internet to see any of our trip.

Happy Fathers Day

Summe' Time

I know that it is still technically spring, but here in central Texas, it's felt like summer for nearly a month already! In fact, we're on day 25 of record high heat. Today it's supposed to be 100 degrees again. And since there are only 2 ways to stay cool (air conditioning and playing in the water) we've been trying to take advantage of both as much as possible. Here are some pictures we took last week of Carson playing at a local splash pad. It is the most entertaining thing to do on a warm (HOT) day, for kids and adults alike.

Carson's Quirks

I think our children show clues to their personalities from very early on. Even though Carson has always been such a good kid he's also been a bit high strung and a little intense about things. He's also very particular about the way things are done. Even the way he plays tells me that this boy is going to have a little O.C.D. Take his cars, for example. He loves to line them up, as straight as his little hands can make them, and he tends to freak out when one car or truck doesn't cooperate. It's so funny. Lately I've taken some pictures of his obsessive compulsive "play" so that I can forever have a reminder of his quirky behavior.
