Yup, there's a Baby in there.

I was afraid I was going to have to leave the post at the title.

Our ultrasound nurse got a good look at all the baby's essentials, heart, head, brain, arms, legs, stomach, lip, but could not get the little munchkin to reveal any further "personal" attributes.

(And might I add, it is so disheartening to look down at your big belly and hear that your baby only weighs about 10 oz.!)

So when she stepped out, I got out a snack and scarfed it down, in hopes of jolting the kid with a little sustenance.

I guess it worked, because as soon as the doctor showed up, he immediately asked if we were wanting to know the gender because he could tell.

Apparently, that leg that was tucked up under the bum had moved enough to give us a clear view.

Yup, I was right.

And we're very excited. No names yet... and don't expect to hear one soon. (That's going to take a little time and deliberation.) Right now, I am most thankful that I do not have to repaint our adorable blue nursery!

Bla Bla Blog

Leaping Leprechauns!

My kids have had a boring couple of days (due to mom trying to potty train- and deciding NOT to potty train... for now), so we headed out this St. Patrick's Day to an indoor play place. They have all kinds of big "jumpy" houses and lots of other toys. Here's Carson showing off his green shirt and uncharacteristic braveness.Jensen still really dislikes the jumpy stuff, so he sticks to things with hard surfaces. :)(And could he be any cuter in this hat? He wears it everywhere, most of the time accompanied by his sunglasses- which he only wears upside down.) Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A Little Fun

I've had some fun decorating cakes lately. Even though I know I'm rusty, I still find that it comes back rather naturally and I still enjoy doing it. (Do not enjoy the standing on my hard kitchen floors, though!)(This was Jensen's Birthday cake. It's actually cupcakes, and he loved his Piston Cup!)(This was for a church activity last week. It was filled with a very yummy raspberry whipped cream.)(This is Dustin's birthday cake.) HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUSTIN!!!!

And just for fun I let the boys have at some leftover cupcakes and icing this afternoon. Maybe we'll have some future culinary artists...or maybe not. :)

Out on the Water

Yesterday we had a fun morning. We got to go on Grandpa Brudnicki's new fishing boat! The big boys went out fishing in the morning, and then us women (and children) got take-out from Rudy's and had a delicious picnic lunch with them. Carson was so excited to go "fishing" on Grandpa's boat. But first we took a little family ride. (Poor Jensen wasn't feeling too hot, but he sure liked driving over the other boats wakes!)We went and saw some turtles hanging out on this rock...and some more turtles chilling in these branches. We also saw some ducks and Dustin enjoyed checking out all the houses right on the water. :) Grandpa did let Carson fish off the boat while it was docked, but alas, he did not catch anything. (But that's really not saying much, since none of the guys caught anything all morning!) But we did have a great time with our family!

Saturday Morning Distraction

My kids have had an odd week, with both parents being gone (at different times) for days at a time, snow, sunshine, and the sudden departure of our neighbors with the beloved dogs. Carson was most upset about the latter, so when I heard one of our friends' cat had baby kittens, I knew I found a perfect saturday morning distraction. Since Dustin had to work (yet again) this morning, we found it a good opportunity to stop by and see the new additions. You always forget how small newborn babies are!
My kids were totally disinterested in the babies, but wanted to play with the mom instead! When some other neighbor friends stopped by and started holding the kittens, Carson finally got the courage to hold one himself. Thanks Brooke, for letting my kids come and terrorize your animals! :)

On another note, after our freak appearance of snow this week, we are now enjoying a beautiful day with our windows open.

Where am I?

When the weather man says we're going to have a chance for snow, I, of course, never believe him. But then I went outside and actually saw this:(Can you see the little flakes falling?)Too bad it's not enough for the boys to play in. It's just cold and really wet outside. Which is no fun to play in at all.
