And He's Off!
Yup, I think we can definitely say we have a little walker on our hands now. Jensen took those "first steps" last weekend, but for almost a week he didn't make many more attempts. It has just been in the last day or so that he has decided walking is the way to go!

He climbs up on furniture to stand and then he just takes off. He can pretty well navigate the hallway by his bedroom and he can walk the length of the living room. And like any baby with a big accomplishment, he's pretty proud of himself!
Way to go, little buddy!

Must be Brothers
Jensen really loves his "Baby MacDonald" Baby Einstein movie. I was taking his picture while he was watching it and when I downloaded them on my computer I laughed because they reminded me of some pictures I took a couple of years ago.
Carson really loved his Baby Einstein movie at this age too.
They are two different boys (especially in looks!), so sometimes it's nice to have a reminder of how similar they are.

Funny Boys
Just thought I'd share some pictures of my funny boys. Carson decided to really get "in" to his finger painting one morning.
He also likes this new box Grandma Brudnicki gave him to put some toys in...or maybe just hang out in.
Jensen loves pushing chairs around so that he can "walk" (he just hasn't quite gotten the whole balance thing down yet).
I also snapped this one of him this morning making a fish face! (He's been doing that, and I have no idea why!)
Lastly, they've just been cute and fun.

My Baby Turned 30!
Okay, well, he's my biggest baby anyway! We did some pre-celebrating on Saturday with Dustin's family, by going out to lunch and then to Golf Smith where he got his birthday present (new custom fitted clubs- what was I thinking? Like I want you to spend more time away from our family!) :) Just kidding, Dust, I hope you get to use them often (but not too often) and love them!
Last night we partied in style, complete with a Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake (I thought of you Sheri!)
Carson was pretty determined to go to Toys'R'Us to buy Dad a birthday present, but when I suggested that maybe Dad would like some golf balls and golf tees he was even more excited! And Dustin was pretty stoked about the Shiatsu Massaging Cushion his parents gave him!
And thank you to all our friends who wished Dustin a Happy 30th Birthday. He really appreciated it.

Simplicity
Ahh, the simple pleasures in life. This morning we took a walk down to the park while it was still cool. (Right, because it's February and hitting 90 degrees today!) I forgot how much I enjoyed this.
Carson was just over a year when we bought our house. Back then I didn't have much to do, didn't have much $ to spend, and didn't want to drive around wasting gas to spend the money I didn't have. So we walked to the park... a lot. I loved getting outside with Carson and letting him explore nature. He mostly liked sitting and playing in the rocks (that really hasn't changed). After I had Jensen, I couldn't really walk to the park anymore. I only had a single stroller and it was too far for Carson's little legs to walk and too far for me to carry Jensen (even in a sling). And even when we did go to the park, it was hard for Jensen, because he had to sit in my lap, otherwise he would get all dirty and try to eat all the rocks.
But a few weeks ago we took a walk to the park in our double umbrella stroller (not ideal for 'walking' but it gets the job done). I decided to let Jensen get down and play in the rocks (because pretty much all parks here have rocks- I actually prefer it to bark or chewed up tires). After several stern warnings about not putting them in his mouth, he started to play. And it hit me- I like coming to the park. I like watching them discover what rocks do when you drop them, or what a dry leaf feels like between your fingers. Maybe it's the fresh air. Maybe it's because my blood is pumping from the brisk 10 minute walk. Maybe it's because I love to see the smiles on my children's faces.

It truly is the simple things that make us really happy. (Even if 'happy' has to include 'dirty!')

A Fun Age
I love this age! Jensen finally went from scooting to crawling. (About the same time Carson finally started to crawl, too.)
I just find crawling adorable. (The dirty knees, socks and worn out pants, not so much, but I guess you gotta pay the price!) He also loves his friends*. (*see post below.) I love to see him hugging and loving on his little monkey.
I realize in this picture he kinda looks mad, but he's actually laughing while he's giving 'Naners' kisses.
It's just a fun age!
