Road Trip 2014- The Trip Out of Texas

Day 1: We drove for about 12 hours. We mostly saw lots of this and we also hit a coyote. It messed up the plastic undercarriage in the front driver side wheel, but with a handy pair of scissors and a flashlight, we were able to get back on the road.
Day 2: We planned to have an easier day of driving, stopping at Mesa Verde National Park to see the cave dwellings.
We also stopped at 4 Corners Monument and each boy took a state in this picture.
Day 3: We spent the previous night in Moab, so on our way out we went through the Arches National Park. The boys enjoyed hiking around Balanced Rock, and we had the Southern Arch all to ourselves for a neat picture. That night we made it to Aunt Jennifer's and Uncle Adam's house so we were happy to not have to stay in another hotel room!
Day 4: We spent the morning with Aunt Jennifer at Scheels. The kids loved the Ferris Wheel and Hudson loved this fake skunk.
We stopped for lunch at Cafe Rio (Dustin's must stop while in Utah) and we met up with my old roommate, Ginger. It was good to see her and hang out with her husband and new baby.
After our lunch stop it was a straight through drive to our Family Reunion. And after 4 days on the road, it was sure nice to settle into a place for a few days.

Take day one and instead of driving west, head north for a mere 10.5 hours and know where you'll end up? Omaha!!! Yes, I like this plan. Happy you finally convinced Dustin to try out a road trip.
